Shaped by the fertile volcanic landscape of Mount Etna, Pasta alla Norma stands as one of Sicily’s most enduring culinary treasures. Originating in Catania, the dish reflects generations of agricultural tradition, where mineral-rich soil and a deep connection to the land have influenced the flavors and ingredients that define Sicilian cuisine.
Inside Yolan’s kitchen, guests will craft fresh pasta by hand while exploring the classic elements of Pasta alla Norma: tomato, fried eggplant, basil, and ricotta salata. Named after Vincenzo Bellini’s renowned opera Norma, the dish is celebrated for its elegant simplicity and lasting place within Sicily’s culinary heritage.
Each guest will prepare fresh pasta to take home, along with techniques and recipes for recreating Pasta alla Norma in their own kitchen.
Following the lesson, enjoy a leisurely three-course lunch featuring seasonal salad, Pasta alla Norma prepared by Yolan’s culinary team, dessert, and curated wine pairings.
